Affinity Markets is a business unit within Manulife Financial's Canadian Operations dedicated to marketing life, health and travel insurance products through direct response methods. Our clients and sponsors are professional, alumni and retiree associations, financial institutions, retailers and other groups or organizations that have a strong affinity with their members or customers. 

 This is an opportunity to join the Affinity Markets Sales Centre at a time of significant growth. This role requires a strong sales background and life insurance licensing. The Licensed Insurance Advisor is responsible for delivering individual sales and retention objectives.  This position will report to the Supervisor - Direct Sales.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Accepting inbound calls and initiating some warm outbound prospect sales calls for multiple products including health and dental, life, etc. in a professional and effective manner
  • Providing advice, needs analysis and completing sales applications for inbound calls
  • Strategically handling cancellation requests
  • Accurately recording prospect feedback
  • Meeting sales and quality measures on a monthly basis
  • Assisting walk in customers, as required
  • Regularly communicating with prospects and clients both orally and in writing
  • Enthusiastically supporting various marketing/sponsor campaigns 
  • Escalating issues, concerns and trends to the Manager - Direct Sales

Qualifications

  • Full LLQP
  • Bilingualism is preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal) in English and in French
  • Experience in a telephone and/or insurance sales role
  • Thorough understanding of Individual Life, Health and Travel products
  • Excellent PC skills, specifically MS office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent business experience
  • Some shift work is required from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m, Monday to Friday
