Position Profile:
As a Broking Coordinator with our National Broking Centre of Excellence for Construction (Middle Market), situated in the Winnipeg branch and supporting our construction practice across Canada, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to Brokers in all aspects of the broking process, acting as an intermediary on behalf of our clients between Aon’s Account Management professionals and Insurance Carriers or Underwriting Companies insurance carriers and underwriters. This role is also responsible for reviewing, proofreading, and invoicing premiums on policies, and preparation of client documentation in compliance with Aon’s National Broking Best Practices.
Distinctive Client Value:
- Providing assistance to Brokers in preparing and submitting marketing proposals to underwriters;
- Processing new policies and policy renewals, changes, additions, deletions and cancellations;
- Handling general inquiries on behalf of the Broking team;
- Composing and distributing routine correspondence;
- Calculating adjustments and premiums on policies and other insurance documents;
- Communicating directly with underwriters to follow up or obtain additional information;
- Reviewing and proofreading all documents, obtaining proper signatures and distributing as appropriate;
- Calculating adjustments and premiums on polices and on other insurance documents;
- Leads by example by demonstrating and sharing with all lines of business the importance of best practices; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years insurance industry experience in a supporting role;
- Minimum 1 year Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance experience ;
- Experience dealing with Program business and Lloyds of London placements preferred;
- Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
- Client relationship focused;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure of competing deadlines;
- Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
- Willing to train candidates who show proficiency in one or more (but not all) of these areas
Education and Professional Development:
- Post Secondary Education (Degree or Diploma) preferred;
- Will consider applicants with 4 or more years directly related business experience in lieu of Post Secondary Education;
- Level 1 License required, Level 2 License preferred
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development including insurance courses/certifications/designations (i.e. Partial completion of any of the following: Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or Certified Risk Management (CRM))
