One of Canada’s largest, national, finance and insurance companies has an opening in their Calgary office.  If you love investigating….if you enjoy evaluating, negotiating and resolving property claims, this is the position for you

Candidates must enjoy face to face on site contact with clients, within a 2 hour radius of Calgary, and be open and flexible as to the working schedule.  This is not an inside office job, you will be on the road investigating the claim, and assisting clients and explaining the process and policy coverages.

Investigate possible loss causes and collect as much relevant information (statements, police reports, etc.) as possible in order to analyze and facilitate the claim.

Document the information required to settle the claim, making optimum use of the INDM system.

Negotiate with the various parties involved to ensure that claims proceed smoothly and that costs are controlled.

Propose fair settlement amounts to clients while adhering to company quality standards and policies, taking policy coverages into account.

Act as a resource and provide support to the inside property team.

 Only Candidates with the following will be considered:

Post-secondary education (College diploma or University degree) in business or insurance related field is preferred. CIP designation or working towards.

A minimum of 3 years Property Field Claims experience (with at least one year in a field role).  Additional experience in commercial property would be a bonus.

A solid knowledge of claims policies and standards, as well as a superior knowledge of all property policies and the Insurance Act.

Experience working with an estimating system (Xactanalysis) is an asset.

Experience with scoping building damage is an asset.

Proficiency with computer systems (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, Lotus) is an asset.

Also required:

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Valid "Class 5" Driver's License required (*will be required to provide Driver's Abstract).

Results & Action Oriented, with superior time management and organizational skills

Proven Negotiating Skills, with sound and timely decision making skills

Creative, Analytical & Systematic Thinker

Please note that this position covers the Calgary area up to a 2 hour radius.  The successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours and provide on call rotational pager support.
