Job Purpose



Under the direction of the Client Relations Manager, to plan, lead, and control production and servicing of small business and related personal accounts so as to contribute to the continued profitable growth of Staebler Insurance Brokers.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities


Prospecting and Selling

  • develop leads and referrals to increase prospect bank 
    • convert prospects into new accounts 
    • actively round out existing accounts 
    • arrange coverage as required within binding authority 
    • re-establish the client relationship by pursuing inactive accounts 
    • participate in community associations and networking opportunities

Servicing

  • develop, maintain and manage client relationships 
    • provide courteous, prompt and efficient service 
    • provide quality technical insurance consultation and recommendation service 
    • gather risk information 
    • maintain utmost good faith by exercising due diligence in collecting and disclosing relevant information
           to insurers and clients 
    • facilitate exceptional claims service 
    • negotiate terms and conditions with insurance companies 
    • arrange a/o amend coverages as required within binding authority 
    • maintain high standards of accuracy  
    • use broker management system to record all client activity 
    • provide customer service backup and support when requested 
    • arrange client payments in line with internal Accounts Receivable protocol

Internal duties

  • groom the book of business to ensure that it is reflective of your experience, skill and technical knowledge
         and gift to other brokers where appropriate 
    • maintain internal recording (Marketing Outcome, New Business Activity, Attendance, Education, etc.)

      Training and Development
  • provide and seek out peer mentoring within the team  
    • promote a positive, healthy and mutually-respectful working environment 
    • attend seminars and internal training sessions 
    • develop technical skill set by participating in presentations and brainstorming with others 
    • ensure open and continuous communication with support team 
    • provide feedback or participate on committees as requested


Skills and Qualifications


  • RIBO licenced
  • actively pursuing CAIB and/or CIP designations
  • effective communication skills
  • experience in customer service
  • proficient in Microsoft Office
