Alberta is Canada’s fastest growing province in terms of population, economy and
diversity. Currently the driving economic engine of Canada, situated with the
majestic Rocky Mountains to the west and the great prairies to the east, Alberta

in the province in 2006 increased by 86,300 over 2005. Approximately 465,600 new
jobs were created between 1996 and 2006.
