The Senior Underwriter – Construction, Contracting and Renewable Energy is responsible for developing and managing relationships with all internal and external customers with the goal of providing brilliant service while supporting regional objectives of profitable growth and exceeding service level standards. The Senior Underwriter will be required to handle inquiries related to Companies’ appetite, underwriting guidelines, and accommodations.
Reporting locally and on a matrix basis to the National Leader, you are responsible for the growth and profitability of the construction, contracting and renewable energy book of business within your region.

What you will achieve in this role:
•Provide brilliant service to major brokers and major clients by effectively communicating with brokers and clients. •Maintain relationships with key regional brokers and clients by setting and meeting premium targets as well as setting and meeting targets for the number of submissions, quotes and binds for. •Meet profitability targets for loss ratio, operating ratio and return on capital for CCRE with our major CCRE brokers •Work with the National and Technical Leaders to ensure that international reporting requirements are met. •Work with Sales in developing and maintaining a regional Construction and Contracting Pipeline. •Be a solutions provider by looking for ways to say “yes” to an account instead of “no”. •Proactively target business opportunities instead of waiting for them.
What you bring to this role:
•5+ years experience in one or more of the following areas construction, contracting and/or renewable energy with a background in property or engineering underwriting. •Underwriting Trading Expertise that will allow you to create profitable growth with key broker partners. •Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills acquired through several years of underwriting experience. •Excellent verbal and written communication, superior customer service skills, excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task. •Solid understanding of the P&C insurance industry. •Good computer and keyboarding skills and familiarity with MS Office software •Post secondary education in a related discipline or equivalent experience •CIP designation
