Our client is a large national retailer with franchise operations across the country. The Manager, Risk Control will play a key role in stabilizing insurance premiums and keeping current deductible levels by working with and educating the retail franchise group on loss prevention and potential risks.
Responsibilities: Conduct a Franchise wide risk assessment in order to identify high risk areas that require immediate implementation of risk prevention processes. Assess current training and processes Conduct frequent store visits and assessments to monitor compliance. Identify opportunities to increase awareness and focus on ways to reduce losses through store training. Arrange and attend regular (quarterly) meetings with insurer, broker and franchise groups to review claims, identify trends and develop methods to address prevent or reduce losses. Collaborate with the broker and the insurer to publish a quarterly newsletter which will provide information on losses and appropriate risk mitigation protocols. Follow up with the franchise group on specific risk issues/questions raised by insurer. Collaborate with the Corporate Store Risk Management Training and the broker to provide educational presentations to franchise owners. On a quarterly basis provide a report to the franchise banner heads on the issues identified and the progress to reduce and control losses.
Qualifications: Completion of post-secondary education in Risk / Insurance with 5 - 7 years related working experience. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to people at all levels in a company. Able to work independently with exceptional planning and prioritizing skills. Proactive, analytical, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure. Strong critical thinking skills. Demonstrated relationship-building skills. Proven ability to influence individuals within all levels of an organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingualism an asset. Ability to travel within North America (approximately 60%).
