SGI CANADA Insurance Services Ltd is currently looking for a talented and motivated individual to join its team as an Intermediate Underwriter (Commercial Property) in Edmonton.
As an Intermediate Underwriter (Commercial Property), you are responsible for reviewing and evaluating routine and moderately complex new and renewal applications for commercial property insurance products. You will determine whether to accept or reject applications based on an examination of the nature and degree of risk involved. You will also be responsible for calculating insurance premiums.
You must demonstrate knowledge of
- the principles and practice of insurance, underwriting policies and procedures, and the various kinds of property and casualty insurance products
- premiums, coverages, and deductibles applicable to commercial property in Alberta
- reinsurance principles
If you have successfully completed 6 CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) courses or post-secondary education with a focus on insurance and risk management, and you have five years progressive experience in Commercial Property and Casualty underwriting, we’d like to hear from you.
