Title: Senior Property Underwriter / Specialist (Mining)
Location: Toronto (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwriting Leadership: Lead the development of underwriting strategies and frameworks for the mining sector, establishing robust guidelines from the ground up.
- Strategic Analysis and Execution: Evaluate and underwrite high-value mining property deals, balancing risk and opportunity to benefit our top-line and profitability.
- Relationship Cultivation: Develop and maintain impactful relationships across functional teams and with key external stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service delivery to brokers and customers.
- Industry Influence: Shape our mining industry portfolio by setting standards and strategic directions that reflect our brand's values and market position.
- Risk and Quality Management: Oversee the quality and profitability of the portfolio, actively managing risks and compliance with established guidelines.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 7 years as a property-focused underwriter with substantial experience in the mining industry, handling mid-tier to large scale domestic and multinational accounts.
- Certifications: CIP/FCIP designation highly preferred.
- Skills: Comprehensive understanding of property underwriting, pricing, and product management in various market segments. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software.
