Job Description

Job Title:  Claims Adjuster – Auto PD

Location: Markham

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, evaluate, analyze, negotiate and settle automobile and third party property damage claims
  • Interpret policy conditions, legislation and confirm coverage for policy holders
  • Conduct claim investigations which includes coordinating, consulting, negotiating and collaborating with
  • appraisers, body shops, tow companies, storage facilities, third party claimants, third party adjusters,vendors and other parties as required
  • Evaluate liability, salvage and subrogation exposure and potential
  • Contact and coordinate all parties involved in all stages of the claims process
  • Review and analyze losses to ensure file meets guideline criteria
  • Respond to client complaints and appeals
  • Determine proper kind of loss and maintain adequate reserves based on exposure, reserving guidelines andauthority level
  • Prepare files for subrogation, litigation, mediation and appraisal
  • Examine claims files handled by Independent Adjusters
  • Ensure a Member-centric approach to progressing a claim file to an expedient resolution
  • Follow and employ file management techniques to meet/exceed key performance indicators
  • General support of claims area and special projects as required

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years direct customer service experience/environment is required
  • 2-5 years prior auto claims experience
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills are essential
  • Career minded individuals whom have demonstrated a career path
  • A post-secondary education working towards a CIP designation would be preferred
