Job Description

MacDowell Insurance Brokers Limited is a full-service, independently owned brokerage located in Burlington, Ontario.

We are seeking a full-time, Personal Lines Broker to service new and existing clients.

Qualifications 

  • The successful candidate must be R.I.B.O licensed with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a brokerage setting
  • Strong understanding of personal lines business
  • Experience with insurance company portals (Aviva, Economical, Intact, Travelers, etc.)
  • Strong client service and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude 

Assets 

  • Systems Proficiency with Power-Broker and Applied Quoting Software
  • Preference will be given to local candidates 

Duties 

  • Assisting existing clients with policy, billing, and informational needs
  • Providing in-house quotations to potential clients and referral business
  • Preparation of new business and/or remarketing of accounts
  • Reporting and monitoring client claims
  • Communicating with underwriters and insurance company representatives
