Title: Senior Disability Relationship Claims Manager - 8008

Location: Downtown Toronto (Working from home with continued Flexibility post covid)

Responsibilities:

  • Support strategic initiatives as well as working with key TPA/MGA stakeholders to improve processes, procedures, and operational effectiveness
  • Successfully build and nurture multi-level trusted relationships across the organization(s) and with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a consultative approach, recognizing new opportunities to enhance strategic objectives; building credibility and influence
  • Provide deep expertise in Disability, Life and CI group claims
  • Lead projects, identify opportunities, and build understanding and consensus among teams
  • Connect TPA/MGA claims’ associates with training material, product information, claims tools and other resources
  • Apply and share expertise to client situations and across organizations/teams
  • Identify cases where non-compliance exists with MGA and/or authority terms
  • Assist with off-site disability claim audits and training
  • Lead the planning and implementation of change programs
  • Partner with case managers and leaders to identify opportunities for process enhancements and improvements
  • Create and share best practices in claim management and reporting
  • Provide detailed, regular reporting of operational and claim practices, and staffing adjustments
  • Impart changes to affect TPA’s ability to deliver results to expectations

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in group disability claims management/adjudication
  • Experience with Disability insurance (STD and LTD) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Arts, or Science (or equivalent)
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and an authentic client-centric approach.
  • NIDMAR, CEBS, or other disability management program designation required
  • When permitted, frequent travel across Canada
  • Solid critical thinking, negotiation, and analytical ability
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Passion for establishing best practices and embracing opportunities for change
  • Project management, change management, and data analysis experience an asset
