DEPARTMENT/LOCATION:   Commercial Lines – Construction, Ontario
POSITION:   COC Underwriter

Job Accountabilities:

In this position at our Branch Office in London, Toronto and Cambridge, you will underwrite and develop our COC portfolio for both the eastern (ex. P.Q.) and western regions. With the mandate to grow profitability, maintaining exceptional working relationships with our brokers/agents. This position requires a candidate with strong technical and underwriting expertise to provide support within the COC team. The incumbent should be an adept communicator to confidently respond to and resolve inquiries, and someone who is capable of making operational decisions with autonomy within your level of authority.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of company underwriting experience, handling/quoting mid-sized Commercial and/or Professional accounts with a preference given to those individuals that have experience with underwriting COC projects
  • CIP or working towards completing CIP courses
  • Good solid relationships
  • Excellent awareness and understanding of the marketplace
  • A high standard of service in handling queries
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
