The Opportunity:

Our client is looking for an analytical minded leader to help grow and maintain their insurance portfolio as their next Actuarial Manager. The successful candidate will offer insight that goes beyond the surface by diving deep into the underlying metrics using statistical and algorithmic predictive models. Not only will the person work closely with company data but also with high level decision makers in order to combine statistics and business to help put this firm ahead of the curve.

  • Analyze rate adequacy, loss and premium trends
  • Work on the development of sophisticated rating techniques and insurance products
  • Manage complex risk through reinsurance
  • Make recommendations to management based on data founded insights developed through algorithmic predictive models
  • Support the development of more junior colleagues
  • Manage teams working on complex statistical models and data visualizations and assist with their verification
  • Grow relationships with important third party stakeholders

About You:

You are a data driven and statistically minded insurance professional with a strong background in quantitative analysis. You are a capable leader who enjoys working with strong teams of like minded professionals. You can delegate at times and at others you are not afraid to take responsibility for the tough decisions. Not only can you understand data personally but you are also able to present it verbally and in writing in a way that others can understand.



  • 6-8 years in an analytical role focused on actuarial sciences
  • 3 years leading a team or with management responsibilities *Open to up-in-comer manager profiles as well!
  • Degree in Actuarial Sciences, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or any other applicable discipline that focuses on quantitative analysis
  • Expert level knowledge of the P&C insurance industry
  • Expert level knowledge of data analysis and model building.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to present findings in a variety of ways
