This is an exciting new role; we are looking for a Manager, Product Development for our client that is expanding their business. Using your strong senior property and casualty underwriting skills, you will provide your expertise and manage the product development team leading new projects. Responsibilities include management of the day-to-day team providing clear expectations and leadership, development of new products and innovation to present to the leadership team and conduct industry research and analyze the competition to further improve on product offerings.
To be successful in this role, the successful candidate will have a strong customer focus, a team orientation, and strong leadership skills along with industry knowledge and business acumen.

A key proponent of this position is to develop, maintain, enhance, and implement insurance products including writing/revising policy wordings, drafting proposals, and creating relevant documents such as application forms and questionnaires under the direction of the AVP of Underwriting.
Necessary qualifications include:
- FCIP designation or working towards
- 5+ or years property and casualty underwriting experience or extensive equivalent insurance experience
- 3+ years experience in product development function
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Extensive knowledge of insurance underwriting principles and practises, business operations and the impact of underwriting on the business.
- Strong relationship building and marketing skills.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
