Job Description
Our client is seeking for an experienced Senior Underwriter to join their team in Vancouver! The ideal candidate must have at least 6 years Senior Commercial Underwriting experience and prior specialty risks experience is preferred.
Location: Hybrid (Vancouver, BC)
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
- Analyze risks, assess underwriting submissions, and make sound decisions.
- Develop, negotiate, and manage a portfolio of accounts in alignment with business strategic goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service.
- Plan, prioritise, and manage individual tasks to meet agreed objectives and SLAs.
- Operate within the company framework and promptly escalate potential risks.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of senior commercial insurance underwriting experience
- University degree, advanced insurance-related certifications like CIP or equivalent
- Proven experience in underwriting, with a focus on property and casualty products
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented individual with strong communication and management skills
