Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Surety Underwriter to join their team in Vancouver! The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in underwriting experience within a Surety organization, and with strong communication and management skills.
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining, practicing, and implementing Contract Surety policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the Surety Contract business through the adherence to business strategic plan
- Ability to build strong partnerships and collaborate to ensure best outcomes for company and the Broker
- Ensure endorsements, renewals, reissues, and cancellations are reviewed and analyzed in accordance with standards and guidelines
Requirements:
- 5+ years of underwriting experience within a Surety organization
- University degree, preferably commerce, economics and/or business co-op degree
- Proficient technical knowledge of complex risks in line of business and segments
- Team player with strong leadership, management, and communication skills
