As our Claims department continues to grow, Gore Mutual is looking to add another Auto Appraiser to the team! Our Auto Appraisers deliver an exceptional claims service experience to our vendors and customers through the inspection and estimation of automobile physical damage and for indemnity control. Reporting to the Regional Appraisal Manager, this role will also prepare estimates, total loss evaluations, and branding forms to provide timely resolution of claims.
 
What will you do?
  • Review estimates from vendors, recommend opportunities and negotiate changes.
  • Inspect vehicles, prepare estimates, and complete damage appraisals.
  • Complete government salvage branding forms and total loss evaluations.
  • Assist Claims Advisors with estimate explanations, appraisal problem solving, and other damage and repair appraisals with customers.
  • Indemnity and severity management, ensuring that estimates are reasonable and fair to restore vehicle to pre-loss condition.
  • Field work may be required on an as needed basis.
What will you need to succeed?
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as an auto appraiser is required.
  • ICAR on-going training and/or Platinum certification is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automobile repair procedures.
  • Strong technical understanding of Audatex estimating, car design and vehicle systems.
  • Ability to identify damages, judge repairability, time requirements, appraisals and estimating. 
  • Excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
Please note: We're a hybrid team that thrives on the energy and value of in-office collaboration. This role requires presence two days a week spent in our Cambridge, Ontario office.
