As the Team Lead for National Initiatives & Business Solutions, you will collaborate with customers, partners, and team members to craft pivotal initiatives in Personal Insurance. Your actuarial and insurance expertise will help achieve flawless execution and world-class results.

 

What You'll Do

 

Complete actuarial analysis for national pricing initiatives, such as implementing the National Flood Program pricing model and monitoring sustainability initiatives and profitability of national projects.

  • Collaborate with Personal Lines pricing teams, Data Science, Underwriting, Claims, Product, Finance, and Reserving to ensure that strategic decisions fit within the overall Personal Insurance strategy.

  • Involved with quantification of all risk events and cost-benefit analysis on all Personal Insurance initiatives.

  • Support Personal Insurance Segment Leads and Portfolio Leads with analysis and national strategy development.

  • Research and apply both traditional and innovative ways to apply accepted actuarial techniques to business issues.

  • Mentor junior staff and act as a technical expert and mentor for all direct reports.

  • Ensure all personal insurance products are developed in line with the Product Development and Management Standard, and the Technical Pricing Standard.

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Canadian business to elucidate the key factors that underlie the emerging experience and offer strategic insights to customers.

 

What You'll Bring

  • ACAS/ACIA or near ACAS/ACIA required.

  • 5+ years of P&C actuarial pricing experience.

  • Entrepreneurial and motivated spirit with the ability to understand business requirements and turn them into analysis (and vice-versa).

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective negotiation skills with the ability to build consensus and influence effectively.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

  • Outstanding analytical skills with an insatiable desire to probe, question, validate, and challenge to ensure accurate and insightful analysis.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
