Job Description
Title: Programs Specialist (Commercial P&C Insurance)
Location: GTA West – Hybrid (1 Day per week in the office)
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate terms on new and existing programs
- Recommend innovative solutions
- Participate in broker visits, insurance industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development
- Provide technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team members Work in collaboration with other internal departments including but not limited to actuary, risk control, claims, marketing, business development, and legal
- Develop and update program agreements
- Oversee the maintenance of programs (renewals, endorsements, etc.)
- Research current trends in the industry pertaining to new and existing programs
Qualifications:
- University/College degree
- CIP obtained, CRM/FCIP is an asset
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Commercial Underwriting, commercial programs experience is preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers
- Able to take initiative and be innovative
- Able to negotiate moderately complex situations
- Adept at shaping business relations with a view to meeting business and growth objectives
- Experience working in a highly competitive sales environment
- Client driven with excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Strong customer service experience
- A high degree of professionalism, tact and discretion
- Superior organization skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and innovative
- Works well individually and as a part of a team
