Product Owner – Insurance Technology (Remote)

Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Product Owner with deep insurance knowledge and agile experience to guide the ongoing development of their platform. You'll bridge business and technical teams, turning client needs into clear, actionable requirements and ensuring quality delivery of new features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate insurance needs into user stories and product specs
  • Own and manage the product backlog, balancing priorities
  • Work with stakeholders and developers to deliver iterative releases
  • Define workflows, acceptance criteria, and scalable features
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and UAT
  • Analyze feedback and data to inform product improvements
  • Ensure each release meets usability, performance, and stability goals
  • Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies clearly

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in insurance (Broker, Underwriter, Analyst, or Implementation)
  • Product Owner or similar role experience in software or insurtech
  • Strong understanding of insurance workflows and systems
  • Ability to write clear user stories and map out configuration logic
  • Technical understanding of APIs, data flows, and system architecture
  • Familiarity with tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, and Miro
  • Experience in UAT and agile product environments
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, cross-functional team
