The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter to join their growing national team. This fully remote position offers flexibility in location across Canada and focuses on underwriting complex casualty business, including contractor packages, wrap-up liability, and large commercial risks. Working alongside a strong group of new business underwriters, you’ll be responsible for broker engagement, underwriting analysis, and contributing to product innovation in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

About You
You are a confident, self-directed underwriter with a problem-solving mindset and a passion for building broker relationships. You bring a strong background in commercial underwriting—ideally with MGA experience—and the ability to work independently while contributing meaningfully to a close-knit team. You’re energized by challenging risks and thrive in an environment where initiative is rewarded.
Necessary Qualifications Include

7+ years of commercial underwriting experience (casualty focus preferred)

Prior MGA experience is an asset

Level 1 General Insurance License (or ability to obtain)

CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP (completed or in progress)

Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills

Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Comfort working remotely with a high level of autonomy

Ability to collaborate effectively within a national team structure
