The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an Insurance Product Specialist to join their team. This is a client-facing, technical position suited to an experienced insurance professional with strong product knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and an interest in innovation and client success.
In this role, you will work closely with internal teams and insurance clients to design, configure, and document insurance products within a technology platform. You will interpret underwriting guidelines, rating logic, and product documentation, primarily through Excel-based tools and templates, and translate that information into accurate, compliant, and functional product configurations.
This position plays an important role in modernizing insurance product delivery and is well suited to someone who is comfortable using technology, including AI tools, responsibly to support configuration, research, documentation, and workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the configuration and documentation of insurance products using internal systems and Excel-based templates
• Contribute to the development, review, and refinement of insurance products for clients using the organization’s platform
• Work with clients and internal teams to interpret underwriting rules, rating logic, and policy documentation and translate them into actionable product configurations
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information required for accurate and timely delivery
• Help manage and prioritize product backlog items in line with timelines and client expectations
• Apply best practices and internal standards to product wording, rating logic, and business rule configuration
• Maintain quality and accuracy throughout the product lifecycle, from setup through testing and implementation
• Participate in testing and validation to support compliance, usability, and successful releases
• Provide insurance expertise during product setup discussions and collaborative problem-solving
• Clearly document configuration decisions and logic to support transparency, continuity, and scalability
• Communicate progress, risks, and blockers proactively to team members and project leads
• Learn and use internal technology systems as required
• Perform other related duties as assigned
About You
You are a knowledgeable insurance professional with experience in insurance product development, actuarial work, or a related area. You are highly analytical, organized, and comfortable working with detailed insurance documentation, rating structures, and business rules.
You enjoy collaborating with both clients and internal stakeholders, and you are able to explain technical information clearly to a variety of audiences. You are also comfortable working independently in a remote environment and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
Necessary Qualifications Include
• 5+ years of experience in insurance product development and/or actuarial work
• Strong Excel skills, including logic-based work and template-driven rule setup
• Proven ability to interpret and apply insurance product guidelines
• Familiarity with insurance workflows, particularly involving brokers, underwriters, and risk managers
• Experience in underwriting, accounting, and/or the insurance product lifecycle is considered an asset
• Familiarity with insurance software platforms, policy administration systems, or configurable SaaS products
• Experience documenting configuration logic and maintaining version control through tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, or controlled templates
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences
• Experience with collaboration and project tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Trello, or Asana
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when working with complex insurance documentation or rating structures
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working independently within a remote team environment
• Willingness to track work hours for internal timekeeping and billing purposes
• Commitment to ongoing learning, particularly around insurance trends, regulatory developments, and product innovation
