Bilingual Group Underwriter Expert
Location: Remote in Canada
About the Opportunity

This is a senior individual contributor role on a collaborative and high-performing group underwriting team.
As an Expert Group Underwriter, you will take the lead on large and complex corporate accounts, working closely with the Group Insurance Pricing team to support the organization's financial objectives across group health, life, and disability lines. This role carries real influence — you'll be contributing to strategic initiatives, mentoring fellow underwriters, and providing direct input to leadership and business partners.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop renewal and new business pricing for large, complex corporate groups
- Analyze claims experience and emerging trends to inform pricing recommendations and assess long-term feasibility
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to pricing, plan design, and financial experience
- Conduct peer reviews and provide coaching and mentoring to underwriting colleagues
- Participate in and lead process improvement projects and strategic initiatives
- Prepare and review ASO and retention financial statements and related agreements
- Serve as a technical resource and thought partner for management and internal business partners
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in business administration, mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, or finance
- 10+ years of progressive group underwriting experience, including exposure to various funding arrangements and large corporate accounts
- Solid technical proficiency in Excel and Word
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with excellent attention to detail
- Effective communicator with strong negotiation skills and a collaborative mindset
- Well-organized with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Bilingualism in French and English is required
