In this role, you will be responsible for the investigation, assessment and settlement of liability claims, while ensuring thorough file management and maintaining strong relationships with clients and various stakeholders.
You will assess coverage and liability, investigate the circumstances surrounding claims, negotiate settlements and manage files from start to finish, while ensuring compliance with company policies, applicable regulations and industry standards.
This is a fully remote position with no road travel required.
Our client is an independent Canadian claims adjusting company with more than 80 years of experience, based in the Greater Montreal area.
What We Offer
- Permanent, full-time position;
- Base salary between $80,000 and $100,000 per year, depending on experience;

Your Day-to-Day
- Investigate and manage liability claims from initial reporting through settlement;
- Assess insurance coverage, circumstances of loss and liability;
- Gather, review and analyze all relevant claim information;
- Conduct investigations to establish facts and determine liability;
- Assess damages and determine appropriate settlement amounts;
- Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants and other stakeholders;
- Manage claims files thoroughly, accurately and in accordance with established procedures;
- Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable regulations and required timelines;
- Monitor claim costs and contribute to effective cost control;
- Maintain appropriate productivity levels while delivering high-quality customer service;
- Collaborate with clients, field claims adjusters and other professionals involved in the claims process;
- Maintain effective communication with all parties involved;
- Perform other related duties as required.
What You Bring
- A valid AMF Claims Adjuster licence for both Personal and Commercial Lines;
- At least 2 years of experience as a Liability Claims Adjuster;
- Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written;
- Strong analytical, investigative and negotiation skills;
- Excellent judgment and the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple claims files independently;
- A professional approach and strong customer service skills;
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment.
