Our client is an independent Quebec-based claims adjusting firm with more than 50 years of experience in the industry. As part of its continued growth, the company is looking for a Senior Claims Adjuster to join its Major Residential and Commercial Losses department.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex, high-value claims, which may involve significant property damage or bodily injury. You will work closely with various stakeholders and travel throughout Quebec as required for investigations and meetings.

Your Day-to-Day
- Manage major and complex residential and commercial claims, including significant property damage and bodily injury claims;
- Travel throughout Quebec as required to conduct investigations, inspections and meetings;
- Guide clients throughout the claims process by clearly explaining the different stages of their claim;
- Answer insureds' questions and provide professional, personalized and straightforward service;
- Review insurance coverage and clearly explain applicable policy protections to insureds;
- Gather statements and information from insureds, third parties and other stakeholders to determine the circumstances, causes and validity of claims;
- Assess the potential liability of the insured and/or third parties based on thorough investigations and well-supported evidence;
- Anticipate potential recovery opportunities and direct investigations accordingly;
- Identify third parties who may have potential liability claims against the insured;
- Effectively negotiate claims and settlements with various parties when appropriate;
- Collaborate with professionals and stakeholders involved in complex claims;
- Actively participate in catastrophe, surge or emergency situations when required, including outside normal business hours;
- Maintain complete and accurate claim documentation;
- Perform other related duties associated with major loss claims.
What You Bring
- A valid AMF 5A Claims Adjuster licence for both Personal and Commercial Lines;
- At least 10 years of experience in claims adjusting, including significant experience handling major losses;
- Strong experience in complex claims analysis, investigation and negotiation;
- A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel throughout Quebec;
- Excellent English proficiency, both written and spoken;
- Strong autonomy, organizational skills and the ability to manage highly complex claims;
- Excellent judgment and strong negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills;
- Comfortable working in demanding situations and making sound decisions under pressure.
