Our client is a major Property & Casualty insurance company, serving both Personal and Commercial Lines. As the company continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter to join their team in Saint-Hyacinthe.
In this role, you will work in a professional and collaborative environment where you will be responsible for assessing risks, making underwriting decisions and supporting brokers and advisors with their files.

Your Day-to-Day
As a Commercial Lines Underwriter, you will play a key role in assessing and managing commercial risks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing risks to determine the acceptability of insurance submissions;
- Making sound underwriting decisions to accept, modify or decline risks;
- Processing policy changes and renewals;
- Responding professionally and efficiently to requests from brokers and advisors;
- Reviewing available information and recommending appropriate solutions for each file;
- Ensuring proper file management and compliance with underwriting guidelines and procedures;
- Maintaining strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders;
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with business partners;
- Keeping your knowledge up to date regarding Commercial Lines underwriting practices, products and guidelines;
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of underwriting practices and processes.
What You Bring
- A minimum of 3 years of Commercial Lines underwriting experience;
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills;
- Strong ability to assess different situations and make decisions independently;
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and thorough;
- A quick learner who is comfortable working with a variety of files;
- Strong communication and collaboration skills;
- Comfortable working with technology and digital tools;
- A reliable home internet connection;
