As unemployment rates hold steady, Canadian job-insurance claims have reached an all time high in comparison to the past 6 years.

In June 2015, it was found that the Canadian job-insurance claims numbers had risen to reach its record high in the last 6 years. This rate can be directly correlated to the weakened Canadian economy (also directly impacted by lower oil prices). A rise in job insurance claims is a strong indicator of the number of people receiving unemployment benefits.
