CSIO is a national association of property and casualty insurers and independent insurance brokers working together. We are dedicated to achieving excellence in the delivery of value added electronic business solutions. CSIO is a valued industry association that creates electronic business solutions for subscribers to achieve a competitive advantage for the Independent Broker Distribution Channel. Ways in which CSIO has, and continues to achieve a competitive advantage for the Independent Broker include: Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Standards Form Standards (paper and computer formats) Web Screen Standards XML Standards Terminology Standards (including English to French Glossary) Developing and implementing an Insurance Portal for the industry Developed an industry extranet (CSIOnet / InsureNet) that created a 70% cost saving for the industry Other National and Global Initiatives CSIO participates in a number of wider industry initiatives, including: IICC Advisory Council for the Uninsured Vehicle Project (VIN data quality/VIN reporting) and the enhancement of CSIOnet IBC Standards and Practices Committee A Director position on the Canadian Industry Standards Advisory Committee (ISAC) within the Electronic Commerce Council of Canada Authorized Canadian representative for the Insurance EDIFACT workgroup, a part of the UN/EDIFACT organization defining EDI standards internationally Participation in a Global Standards Forum and collaborates with its global counterparts including ACORD (USA), ABI (UK) and EEG7 (Europe)
