Commonwealth Insurance Company was incorporated by an act of the Canadian Parliament on July 17, 1947 and has operated as a federally registered insurer since April, 1950. The company is eligible to write business on an excess and surplus lines basis in 44 U.S. states plus the District of Columbia.
