Role Overview:

As a Claims Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional claims service. You will lead and support a claims team, handling complex cases and ensuring the highest standards are met. Your expertise will guide the team in resolving claims efficiently and effectively, contributing to our reputation for outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Delegate claims settlement authority and provide strategic guidance to claims representatives.
  • Analysis: Identify opportunities through financial analysis and cost/benefit evaluations.
  • Support: Offer leadership, motivation, and technical guidance to promote team performance.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed claims reports and analyses.
  • Claim Handling: Evaluate and manage complex general liability claims, both litigated and non-litigated.
  • Planning: Assist in annual plan and budget preparation for the claims department.
  • Oversight: Operate the claims servicing unit, covering a range of claims from bodily injury to commercial risks.
  • Settlement: Ensure appropriate claims appraisals, investigations, policy interpretation, and final settlements.
  • Legal Engagement: Attend mediations, arbitrations, and pre-trial conferences as needed.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated on legislative changes and industry trends.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive insurance adjusting experience, preferably with multi-line expertise.
  • Leadership: 3+ years of previous insurance leadership experience preferred.
  • Certification: Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
  • Customer Focus: Exceptional claims service skills, demonstrating empathy and concern.
  • Communication: Excellent investigative, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Organization: Strong time management and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of habitational, farm, and commercial policies, along with medical and legal terminology.
  • Negotiation: Advanced negotiation skills to resolve complex claims.
