Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Licensed Insurance Agent at BestQuote’s office in Vancouver, BC. In this role, you will help clients select suitable travel insurance policies, provide clear advice on coverage options and eligibility, and manage the end-to-end sales and servicing process. After completing a structured training program, your day-to-day work will focus on advising clients and selling, issuing, and administering travel insurance policies by phone and email.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell insurance policies by phone and email;
- Process client orders;
- Answer client calls;
- Send basic email marketing communication to website users;
- Complete administrative tasks such as processing early return refunds, cancellations, policy date changes;
- Validate monthly commission statements from suppliers;
- Follow-up with clients to obtain missing application/refund information;
- Complete various tasks associated with the operation of our day-to-day business;
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Graduation (BC or equivalent);
- University diploma/degree preferred;
- LLQP (either Life or Accident/Sickness) OR a BC General Insurance License Level 2 or 3 with previous insurance experience. Candidates with a General License must be willing to also write the A&S exam for licensing in provinces other than BC;
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking skills in English;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Preference will be given to agents fluent in Mandarin or Spanish;
- High energy, positive attitude and team player;
- Ability to take direction but act with initiative and self motivate to meet deadlines and responsibilities;
- Solid organizational ability and an attention to detail;
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure;
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, especially word processing and spreadsheet software;
- Previous sales & marketing experience would be an asset.
Hours
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some weekends as needed
Location
- Coal Harbour, Vancouver, BC (on-site, with potential for some flexibility after training)
Wages and Benefits
- $28/hr with additional team-based monthly bonuses after a three-month probationary period.
