As Director of Underwriting, you will be responsible for finding suitable insurance solutions for business owners, managing a team of underwriters, and maintaining adequate production levels and relationships with partner brokers.
Our client is one of Canada's largest commercial property and casualty insurance companies and has been in business for many years. The position is located in Montreal.

What we offer:

• Permanent employment.

• A base salary of $120,000 to $125,000 per year, negotiable based on experience.

• An annual bonus of up to 15% based on your performance and the company's performance.

• Work-life balance.

• Flexible schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, daytime hours. Finish 2 hours early every Friday during July and August
• Comprehensive benefits package fully paid by the employer (life insurance, prescription drugs, dental, salary, etc.) starting on day 1
• RRSP pension plan with employer contribution starting at 5% of your base salary

Your role within the team:

 

Manage the underwriting of commercial insurance products.
Effectively manage the entire process of evaluating, documenting, selecting, negotiating, and pricing policies.
Play an active role in business development, sales, and negotiation.
Build and maintain lasting business relationships with brokers and clients.
Support and guide the development of colleagues through coaching and mentoring.
Supervise and direct the activities of your area.

Who are you?

• Minimum 10 years of underwriting experience, including 3 years in team management
