As a claims adjuster specializing in liability, E&O, and D&O, you will be responsible for assessing claims by investigating losses and negotiating settlements accordingly, while maintaining adequate production levels and client relationships.
Our client is one of the largest property and casualty insurance companies, with a long history in business. The position is located in Montreal.

What we offer:

• Permanent employment.

• A base salary between $88,000 and $132,000 per year, negotiable based on experience.

• An annual bonus of 15% based on your performance and the company's performance.

• Flexible schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday, daytime hours.

Your role within the Liability and Litigation team:

As part of a versatile team handling a variety of cases (auto, general liability, commercial, professional, and D&O), you will leverage your expertise to:

Provide thorough and comprehensive coverage analysis for all new cases and serve as a resource for our underwriting team in drafting contracts and reviewing accounts.


Use your experience and information to assess financial risks. Negotiate appropriate and timely settlements for assigned claims across multiple jurisdictions.

 

Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel to define and implement effective and cost-effective litigation strategies for ongoing claims. Actively participate in mediations and settlement conferences, as required.


Coordinate and manage communication with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., underwriters, brokers, reinsurers, external suppliers, etc.) while ensuring the highest quality of customer service.


Consult with and report to Claims Management and the Legal Claims Department, as needed, on significant losses and disputed coverage issues. Ensure that all necessary steps are taken to achieve the best possible outcome.


Maintain case notes, prepare internal reports, make timely provisions, process payments, and maintain the electronic case tracking log in accordance with best practices.

 

Identify, monitor, and report on emerging trends and legislative changes within the insurance industry.

Who are you?

• Hold your AMF Commercial Claims Adjuster certification
• Have at least 3 years of experience as a commercial claims adjuster specializing in liability and litigation

Be bilingual in French and English
