Vice-President, Commercial Lines
Location: Lower Mainland, BC (Hybrid, with regional travel)
About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and growing insurance brokerage, is seeking a commercial insurance leader to take ownership of their Middle Market book. This is a leadership role focused on portfolio growth, client retention, and building out a high-performing Account Executive team.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years in commercial lines, including 3–5 years in a leadership capacity
- Level 3 General Insurance License required; CAIB, CIP, CRM, or FCIP an asset
- Track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams
- Demonstrated ability to hit business targets through disciplined execution
- Strong grasp of the commercial marketplace and ability to advise on marketing strategy, portfolio management, and retention
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Comfort working cross-functionally to solve complex business problems
- High integrity and a client-first mindset
- Entrepreneurial, growth-oriented approach to the business
What You'll Do
- Manage and mentor a team of Commercial Account Executives, driving growth and retention targets
- Work alongside the servicing team to maintain a smooth client experience
- Partner with Marketing on the quality and competitiveness of market submissions
- Uphold core account management disciplines — portfolio reviews, renewal planning, at-risk account protocols, and strategic reviews
- Own team performance across new business, retention, and client service metrics
- Step in directly with clients, prospects, or carriers on more complex situations
- Set goals, coach performance, and hold the team accountable to results
- Work with leaders across Personal Lines, HR, Finance, and IT on broader initiatives
- Track performance data to identify and act on improvement opportunities
- Stay active in industry associations and carrier networks
- Travel regionally to support clients and team members as needed
